The Ugly Truth

Gerard Butler
and Katherine Heigl star in a hilarious comedy with a romantic twist. Gerard plays Mike Chadway, a pessimistic T.V. host who believes he has all relationships figured out.Heigl plays Abby Richter, a romantically challenged news producer. The Ugly Truth really gets deep down into relationships and shows what men and women assume about each other. This film opens up a lot of "hidden secrets" that people don't like to talk about.

When Abby meets Mike, she cannot stand him and everything he stands for. Abby convinced that she will find the perfect man, the man of her dreams. Mike tells Abby that there is no such thing, all men want is some ass. Abby and Mike make a deal that he will tell her everything to do, from what she says to what she wears in order to make her neighbor fall for her. If her neighbor does fall for her, than Abby can't complain about what Mike talks about on her show.

There are hilarious scenes all throughout this movie, including some twists. Gerard Butler is an amazing actor and his character fits him well. Together, Heigl and Butler make a great couple for a movie. However, The Ugly Truth is just like any other romantic comedy. Girl meets boy.. girl hates boy.. girl falls in love.

Cinematical.com says, "The answer is because The Ugly Truth actually knows next to nothing about dating advice, the behaviors of men and women, or much of anything else romantically human. It's a factory widget created in a boardroom." They are exactly right, this film does not portray any correct behaviors that a relationship would have.
