Anchorman is still one of my all time favorite comedy movies. Although it has many witty remarks, you have to love that sense of humor. If you enjoy any more starring Will Farrel then this is a must see. Its a hilarious spin off of the 1970's.
Former head writer of Saturday Night Live, Adam McKay and Will Farrel are the writers of Anchorman, which explains why this movie is so funny. This film is about sexist Ron Burgundy, (Will Farrel) San Diego's top-rated anchorman and the problems he encounters when a women, Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate) is chosen to be the new anchorman. Ron and the other anchormen, Brian Fantana, (Paul Rudd) Brick Tamland (Stever Carell) and Champ Kind (David Koechner) have a hard time adjusting to a women being an anchorman. The men give Veronica a very hard time at work by pulling perverted stunts to try and make her quit.
After Ron falls for Veronica he starts to accept her as another anchorman. However, Ron's love for Veronica will never amount to the love he has for his anchorman position. One day Ron has a traumatic experience causing him to miss his news cast. Veronica takes over Ron's position, and Ron is unable to handle this change. Ron and his co-workers embark on interesting adventures as they try and take back their news cast while trying to stay top rated.
Not only is Anchorman written by amazing writers, but they could not have got a better cast. Each character has a different attribute to them that you can't help but laugh at. The New York Times says, ''Anchorman,'' written and directed by a former ''Saturday Night Live'' head writer, Adam McKay, is studiously harmless." If you have not seen Anchorman you are missing out.
